The kids are back in school! Now it’s time to focus on you!
You just dropped off the kids for their first of day of school. Thanks to you they had the right clothes, the right supplies and the right attitude. You’ve spent hours planning after-their school activities. For the next year they will have the opportunity to expend their minds, make new friends and reach new heights.
What about you? What are your plans for the year? What are you going to try and master? What goals are you going to reach before the end of the school year?
As women we are fabulous caretakers, so much so that most of the time we forget to take care of ourselves. Over time this leaves us feeling frustrated, unhappy and yearning for something more.
This fall, I urge you to spend as much time on creating a plan for yourself, as you spend on your kids.
Take a snapshot of your life. Look at your career, health, and personal development areas of your life. What areas need your attention? What are areas are you the most motivated to work on? Do you want to find your next career? Do you want to improve your physical health? Do you want to launch your own business?
The key to reaching your goals is to:
Identify the area of your life your most motivated to work on
Set a very specific goal for yourself (what, where, when and how)
Create a detailed action plan
Set up an accountability system. Tell a friend, your husband, a coach.
You’ve done a great job of taking care of the kids. Now it’s your turn. What are you waiting for? Get started!
