Connecting Kids, Employees, and Companies on Earth Day

March 25 2011

Earth Day is a perfect opportunity for companies to show they care about being “green” and for families to teach kids about the importance of the environment. Earth Day sprouts up on Friday, April 22 this year, and like last year, I’ve been thinking about interesting ways of getting kids excited about being eco-savvy as it’s the time of year again when companies and schools start planning green.

One of the coolest corporate events I’ve hosted  and planned was last year when Bloomberg asked me to host a reading event with one of my books  The Greening Book: Being a Friend to Planet Earth. The human  resource executives and event planners at Bloomberg scored in all directions…they honored Earth Day by hosting a fun and family-focused event for employees and their children, reinforced corporate commitment to being green, and gave families a keepsake book as a gift to educate children on the topic.
