Twitter is a Conversation

June 7 2010

Scott Stratten (@unmarketing) has just posted a new blog as he's hit the 50/50 mark - 50,000 tweets and 50,000 followers.

So, has it been worth it?

Every tweet according to Scott has been worth it.

Why?

Twitter is a conversation.

37,000 of his tweets have been points of conversation.

75% of his tweets are @ replies.

Twitter may have "no rules" but as Scott says "if you believe that business is built on relationships, you have to make building them your business."

Is Twitter for everyone?

No.

If you're not about talking to people, getting to know them, sharing in the dialog - then guess what? Twitter is not the platform for you.

To quote Scott "To all those that do believe in talking with each other, I adore you. Thank-you for making my life, both business and personal better than I could have ever hoped for."

If you're in Vegas in October, Scott is the opening keynote at BlogWorld 2010: http://www.blogworldexpo.com/attendee/show-information.aspx
