American Heart Association - Heart Walk in New York City

March 3 2010

Hello everyone,

This is my first blog on 85Broads. Welcome readers and hope you enjoy reading my blogs and articles!!!!

I have been an amateur blogger for a while now. I wanted to start my first blog on 85Broads with a cause that is very close to my heart. It is the cause that is promoted by American Heart Association-efforts to reduce death caused by cardiovascular disease.

I have been part of this cause for over 8 years for many reasons; mainly personal. I lost both my grandfathers due to stroke. My grandmother had Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) for almost 10 years prior to her death. But the most shocking was my father's recent heart surgery. This has definitely scared me but at the same time further motivated me to make a difference. I am sure you know someone who has also gone through this deadly disease.

Heart Disease is the number one killer for Women. American Heart Association has started a movement- Go Red For Women. It celebrates the energy, passion and power we have as women to collaborate together to wipe out heart disease and stroke.

We at 85Broads can make a difference and the first step towards it is sign-up for the Heart Walk in New York City on June 24th 2010 at 6.30pm at World Financial Center.

Siemens is a # 1 sponsor of this event this year and as I work for them I started a team "Siemens Healthcare." This group is independent of Siemens. Please register on the link and looking forward to see you all at this important cause.
