Anytime I get the chance to share my thoughts with other women on how to become sassy, I’m one happy girlfriend! I was lucky enough to give a presentation to a group of awesome businesswomen with Key4women at Key Bank yesterday.  Of course, I discussed the 6 steps to finding your inner sass— which was an extension of some of the principles that are presented in my book “31 Days to...

I’m beginning to notice a pattern when I speak with women about finding their strengths and passions in life.  Often, there is some confusion surrounding the process to finding your “real” self. For example, at the last “Sassy Girlfriend Talk”, we were discussing what you enjoyed doing when you were young.  The reason I always ask this question is because usually, when we are young, we partake in activities that us...

How to Start a Wicked Revolution

The movie Mirror Mirror with Julia Roberts is about to hit theaters on March 30.  I can’t wait to see this modern day spin on Snow White.   I love Snow White since we encounter Snow White’s situation with her stepmother in our everyday career lives by dealing with nasty corporate politics.  At times, you feel like you’re navigating a snake pit.  It’s draining, frustrating, mind-boggling and takes you away from doing...

My mother was known as a very wise woman.  On a regular basis, women would come to our house seeking my mother’s wisdom. I vividly recall her various friends sitting around the kitchen table, waiting for my mom to help them solve their issues and make sense of their predicament.  She somehow had a knack at understanding people and seeing through to the truth in every situation.

One of my mother’s favorite...

I met Wendy at a networking event in October.  While the two of us talked, it wasn’t long before we discussed plans to meet for lunch.  Deep in conversation, Wendy told me that her mother was involved in a weekly women’s group. She said that they referred to it as the “Angel Group”. They would meet to discuss all the struggles that go along with being a woman in today’s world.

Wendy...

What a Waste of Time!

Are you a girlfriend that has perfected the art of worrying? If you have, I’m not surprised.  Most women I come across have spent a good portion of their life practicing this sport. Let me be honest— there have been points in my own life where I wasted my valuable time taking part in this activity. But is it really worth it?

They say that 40% of what you worry about never...

Change Happens!

Shari Caplan Goldsmith

There are times in life when you just have to wait patiently for things to change.  I realize this is a difficult lesson for us to learn (myself included) since we instinctively desire to control our universe as much as possible. We see a situation that needs to change and we want change now!  But what if it is someone else that needs to do the changing?  How much control do...

The Girlfriend Code

I’ve worked with many women in the past that struggle with having solid friendships in their lives; it’s difficult for them to keep good friendships over a long period of time. This is often because they don’t understand what it really takes to be a good friend.  Sometimes they don’t realize that there are unwritten rules you need to follow.

I remember making plans with my good friends...
