The New Old Freedom - Choice

There is an old Cherokee Medicine Way called The Principle of Noninterference. It is very difficult to master, and all but forgotten in today's world.

Noninterference means respecting and allowing choice. It is the opposite of distance, absence, or disinterest. To love another is to not interfere with their self-determination and to allow a respectful silence, a connection without words that permits choice and change.

Danielle talks about our core desired feelings, and asserts that all of our behavior, conscious or not, is in search of feeling these feelings. It’s embarassing, maybe, that it’s taken me 35.5 years to figure this out, but I am certain that one of my core desired feelings, probably the primary one, is safety.

This is one of those places where the rational and logical people in my life roll their eyes....

Being a Mom

I have two great kids. Meredith is 19 and is just spectacularly beautiful. She is also funny and thoughtful and generous. No mother could ask for a better daughter. I love hanging out with Mer because as I've said to her throughout her lifetime, she is my sunshine.
