I wanted to share with you two pieces I have co-written with my dear friend Katharine Henderson, President of Auburn Seminary, and JC Austin. I am sure you have read about Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein saying ( tongue and cheek) that he was doing “God’s Work.” What an opportunity to write about God and Goldman! In response we wrote this piece “Can Goldman Find God?” http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-11-14/can-goldman-find-god/full/ In the article we call on Goldman to create a fund to help address the problem of job loss in this country. I would love to say they read the piece and decided to create the “10,000 Small Business Initiative” in response, the largest ever corporate charitable initiative, but clearly it had been in the works for some time.
