Proud of my girlfriends who joined (and stayed) at Lehman Brothers

September 12 2008

I had the honor of working with Joe Gregory from 2004-2007 to help build the business case that Lehman was a wonderful place for the smartest women on the planet to work. We focused on undergrads, b-school women, and lateral hires. As a result, some extraordinary women joined the firm-- each adding value to the business and to the firm's awesome culture.

Three rockstars interned at 85 Broads in Greenwich in the summer of 2005 and subsequently joined Lehman Brothers from undergraduate school -- Meghan Muntean (Princeton '06), Lindsay Tintenfass (Princeton '06) and Anna Kohanski Klein (Harvard '07). Meghan works in the asset management division, Lindsay trades converts, and Anna trades distressed debt. Three spectacular, fearless young women who have leaned into the wind and stayed the course.

Holly Isdale -- Estate, Tax and Trust superstar -- ex-GS - ran Goldman's SWAT team-- a brilliant addition to Lehman Brothers. Works out of a suitcase, in 3 airports a day, an absolute pro at what she does while making work/life balance look easy.

Mary Mattson Kenworthy-- one of the absolute allstars in Lehman's Private Banking Group. Mary came over from JPM a few years ago-- she's as devoted to her clients as they are to her. Ditto her family and friends.

These women have a love for the firm and for the people they work with and for, a passion for the business, and a steely work ethic that is rare even in the best of times.

In other words, THEY ROCK.
