In honor of my daughter's 21st birthday, I am going to thank 5 great women every day until I reach 10,000. This will take a few years to do but what a great way to start the day! I want to thank women who are rocking the world for other women -- women who have the guts, the passion, the drive, and the talent to blaze new trails for themselves and for other women to follow.

The first 5 women on my list are:

Meredith Hanson: Mer is my golden sunshine. She is a brilliant young artist and defines the word "trailblazer."

Patty Tiebout: Patty celebrated her 82nd birthday by waterskiing in the ocean while on vacation in Barbados. And she managed to stay up on her skis despite the chop. It doesn't get any better than that.

Kathleen Kennedy Townsend: Courage is her middle name.

Alison Levine: Courage is her first name.

Sara Weinheimer: Courage is her first, middle, and last name.
