Valentine’s Day. It’s marketed as a day for lovers— for engagements and heart-shaped tubs and bouquets of roses. But for me, it’s a day to celebrate a different kind of love — the love I have for my two children.

I got to spend Valentine’s Day weekend with them. Mer and I went to the movies last night while Chris was at home watching a Rangers hockey game. Today I got to watch Chris play a fantastic school squash match —he doesn’t even mind hearing my yell “Go Criff!”
